Tony hawk pro skater 3 and 4 remastered series#
Since Vicarious was put onto existing Blizzard properties, Activision apparently was looking for somebody else to do a THPS 3 and 4 Remake “ but they just didn’t really trust anyone the way they did Vicarious,” Hawk added, “s o they took other pitches from other studios, like, ‘what would you do with the THPS title?’ And they didn’t like anything they heard, and then that was it.”ĭespite that, Hawk is optimistic about the future of the series and a remake of THPS 3+4: “ Who knows? Maybe when the dust settles, we’ll figure it out. Then Vicarious got absorbed, and then they were looking for other developers. “ Even up until the release date of, we were going 3 and 4. Talking about a potential remake of THPS 3 and 4, Hawk said: “ That was the plan,” on a recent livestream. However, shortly after the release, Vicarious Visions was acquired by Activision, and subsequently put to work on existing IP from Blizzard. Vicarious Visions developed Tony Hawks Pro Skater 1 and 2, and according to Hawk they were also planning on developing a Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 and 4 Remake right up until the launch of THPS Remake in 2020. Tony Hawk had confirmed on stream that a remaster of Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3+4 was up next, but Activision-Blizzard completed a deal that saw it absorb Vicarious Visions, causing all other projects.

Unfortunately, it seems that all hopes for a remake of the following two games in the series have been squashed, as Tony Hawk himself revealed further plans were canceled after the developers were acquired by Activision. Remakes may not have the best reputation these days, but one of the most successful ones in recent years was the remake of the first two Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater titles.
